With the support of a university grant and over the last year, SLAB editors interviewed veterans on SRU’s campus who served in either Afghanistan or Iraq, along with the families of these veterans. This ongoing project seeks to preserve the voices of these community members. The interviewees were asked about everything from unexpected gifts from home to the experience of being away from one’s family.
These selected audio excerpts are from eight interview subjects who generously gave their time and stories to SLAB. The full interviews and transcripts will be archived in Bailey Library.
The SLAB editors who conducted the interviews were Genna Walker, David Potsubay, and Kaitlyn Giddick. The audio excerpts were edited by LaMorie Marsh. The project was supervised by Dr. Mark O’Connor and Dr. Danette DiMarco.
